Photo above shows road leading to the Wild Cove School, (top of hill, far background) which served residents of Wild Cove and Back Harbour. This school was in service until the 1950's. The school later became known as the "Pig and Whistle".
Photo also shows the many vegetable gardens, which were very common to that time period.
